CONCENTRATED SEMI-SOLID CONDUCTORS: Concentric-wrapped semi-solid conductors are used in some of AudioQuest's AC power and speaker cables as a flexible and economical alternative to typical stranded conductors. Concentrically packed semi-solid conductors use fewer large strands that do not change position over the length of the cable. While solid conductors are the complete solution to strand distortion, concentrically packed semi-solid conductors avoid many of the distortion mechanisms of stranded conductors.

LONG GRAIN COPPER (LGC): LGC allows for a smoother, clearer sound than cables using normal OFHC (Oxygen Free High Conductivity) copper. OFHC is a general metal industry specification regarding "loss" without any concern for distortion. LGC has less oxides within the conductive material, less impurities, less grain boundaries and definitely better performance. NRG-X3 cables use LGC strands in a concentrically packed semi-solid conductor arrangement.

HELICAL ARRAY GEOMETRY: The relationship between conductors defines the most basic electrical values ​​of a cable (including capacitance and inductance). However, even when those variables are kept in reasonable balance, the relationship between drivers can vary in ways that greatly affect performance. The helical-arc construction (like the circular spiral) allows for significantly more dynamic contrast and clarity than if the same conductors were run in parallel or as multiple twisted pairs.

COLD WELDING SYSTEM: This innovative plug design allows for a perfect connection without heat between the cable and the plug. The connection between the plug and the conductors is made using AQ's cold-welding system, which provides a superior connection that ensures the structural integrity of the conductor remains fully intact. The cold welding system refers to a combination of high pressure at the point of contact and the use of paste impregnated with copper or silver.
