Nordost QBASE Mark III: AC Distribution Unit with Star-Earth Topology
The Nordost QBASE Mark III is an AC distribution unit designed to provide a solid, interference-free electrical foundation for any high-fidelity system. Its exclusive star-earth topology connects all outlets from a single central point, isolating components from each other and eliminating conflicting signal and ground flows that generate noise—without using inline filtering or active circuitry.
Unlike conventional power strips, the QBASE passively elevates the impedance of each outlet (except the “primary earth” outlet), achieving:
A direct, uninterrupted path from the wall to each component.
Total isolation between connected components.
Elimination of ground loops and electrical crosstalk.
Its extruded aluminum chassis houses durable, high-quality sockets and a dual-level PCB that separates ground from neutral and live, minimizing interference. In addition, each unit is internally wired with Nordost Monofilament technology and equipped with a resistance damper to suppress parasitic currents.
