The Vincent CD-S7 DAC represents the evolution and refinement of the iconic CD-S6 MK, which for decades was the flagship of Vincent's CD series. This new model not only retains the virtues that made its predecessor renowned but also adds the capability to function as a DAC, enhancing its versatility and appeal to audiophiles.
One of the main innovations of the CD-S7 DAC is the inclusion of optical, coaxial, and USB digital inputs, allowing its exceptional analog signal processing to be utilized with external digital sources. Thanks to the PCM1796 digital-to-analog converter, digital sources are processed with a quality that approaches the pure sound of a CD.
The analog output section has been designed to deliver fully balanced performance. Each of the four signal lines has its own power filters and amplifiers, resulting in a significant improvement in sound and an increased dynamic range.
For reading digital signals from CDs, the CD-S7 DAC uses the Sanyou DA11 chip with software specifically developed by Vincent. This ensures precise and reliable disc reading, optimizing quality from the very first step of processing.
The analog processing stage features two Russian 6922 tubes, providing a warm, transparent, and spatial sound. From the first chords, the improvement in depth and sonic clarity is evident.
The power supply has also been redesigned and improved. A toroidal transformer provides a stable energy supply, while a 6Z4 tube and a 12AX7 tube regulate the voltage required for optimal operation.
In the key components of the CD-S7 DAC, Vincent has integrated high-quality parts from renowned manufacturers, ensuring exceptional performance at every stage of the device.
