Built into the IMM-6C is the CM6542 ADC/DAC which accurately converts the acoustic information into bit-perfect data for use with any acoustic measurement software that supports external equipment. with a THD+N rating of 0.001%, the ADC works transparently providing maximum accuracy from input to output. The output jack of the IMM-6C allows you to play sweeps and noise from your host device for an all-in-one testing setup, and acts as a convenient kick-stand to keep your microphone off any surfaces your device rests on.

The USB end of the IMM-6C has been slimmed down and extended for guaranteed fit through large phone and tablet cases for no fuss connections.

Dayton Audio iMM-6 Calibrated Measuring Microphone for iPhone iPad Tablet & Android

Dayton Audio's iMM-6 is a professional quality measurement and recording microphone designed to work with Apple's entire suite of "iDevices": iPad, iPhone and iPod. Its rugged construction and compact size make it the perfect companion for audio professionals who must work in the field performing acoustic analysis, monitoring audio levels or recording. Each iMM-6 is individually calibrated by hand using a standard laboratory measurement microphone, for consistent, repeatable measurements that match the level of accuracy previously offered only by expensive stand-alone microphones.

Dayton Audio's iMM-6 is also compatible with Android and Microsoft devices using a 3.5mm TRRS jack. It incorporates a headphone/line output for monitoring the recorded signal, and a kickstand raises and angles the measurement capsule for more direct measurements. All iMM-6s are made of high quality components. A rugged foam carrying case is included.

The iMM-6 has a unique serialised calibration file. This calibration file can be used by most audio analysis applications for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch (see compatibility list for recommendations). Visit the Dayton Audio website, where you will be prompted to enter the serial number from the box of your iMM-6. Once the serial number is entered, the download will begin.

Support for Android and iPhone users:

There are many apps on the market that provide the smartphone user with audio measurement software.  We do not recommend any specific app, however, in an attempt to help the new user of an iMM-6 we have listed links and some useful tips below.  One for the iDevice/iPhone platform and the other for Android devices.
