The DC BLOCK is a very compact and attractive product that, as its name suggests, has been specifically designed to block direct current input from the mains in all types of audio electronics. The idea behind this versatile accessory is the proven fact that, as a general rule, the alternating signal present in the electrical network is subject to various types of interference and non-linear loads that distort it. In particular, asymmetric loads will cause drifts in said alternating signal, the result being what is known as “direct current in alternating electrical signal”. The magnitude of this direct current is small, on the order of 500 mV, but it must be known that a small amount of direct current is enough to saturate a modern high-flux toroidal transformer, which will lead to a reduction in its efficiency and increased mechanical vibrations. This is where the DC BLOCK comes into play, combining a simple connection with an intelligent design to instantly eliminate the direct current present in the network signal, to which it adds additional conditioning of the latter and a filtering of the signals. radio frequency, both processes that help to optimize the performance of any audio component.
