SCAN SPEAK 28W/4878T00 Revelator - Subwoofer
The 28W/4878T00 is a very powerful 28 cm subwoofer, with its large 3" voice coil, extreme linear excursion and low resonance frequency it is perfect for reproducing the deepest frequencies. It incorporates a sandwich paper cone with very high rigidity and relatively low weight. The motor system has high-strength copper sleeves to optimise eddy currents and minimise self-induction.
Suggested enclosure alignments:
1.5 cu. ft. sealed enclosure for 3 dB reduction at 48 Hz and 6 dB reduction at 32 Hz.
3.0 cu. ft. with 3" by 13" long vents for 3dB reduction at about 22Hz.
2.75 cu. ft. with 3" by 15" long vents for f3 of 23Hz
2.5 cubic feet with 3" by 17" long vent for 25Hz f3
The sealed box used with a bass booster plate amplifier could be a nice little subwoofer. The port length on vented boxes is quite long. Be sure to leave at least 3" to the rear wall, preferably more.
