VINCENT AUDIO KHV-200. Hybrid headphone amplifier
To get the best sound quality from your headphones, an external headphone amplifier is needed. In collaboration with engineer Frank Blöhbau, we have developed the KHV-200. It has been designed so that almost all headphones can be handled with the best sound quality. In addition to a 6.3mm jack headphone socket, it also has a 4-pin XLR socket for high-end balanced headphone connection.
The number of people who like to enjoy music by listening to it on their headphones has grown steadily for years and it is still a very popular custom.
Many audio sources and amplifiers offer the ability to connect headphones, but the sound usually falls short of the actual headphone performance. To get the most out of your headphones, we at Vincent have developed a completely new headphone amplifier: the KHV-200.
The person in charge of this development has been, as with the SV-237MK, SV-737 or SA-T7 models, the engineer Frank Blöhbaum.
The technical parameters of headphones vary greatly: the impedance of high-quality headphones ranges from 16 ohms to 600 ohms. Same performance, smooth playback with the same power input: low impedance means higher current and lower voltage requirement.
In the case of headphones with a relatively high impedance, such as 300 or 600 ohms, the opposite is true: for harmonious control, the headphone amplifier must deliver a comparatively high voltage and therefore a lower current. Mobile end devices like mobile phones and tablets, for example, only provide low output voltages, so headphones with very high impedances in such devices are often impossible to move.
The KHV-200 headphone amplifier has been designed in such a way that it can drive almost all available headphones with the highest sound quality. Settings for this can be made using the onboard gain switch. As well as having the usual 6.3mm jack connection, the device also has a balanced 4-pin XLR connector. This means that even the highest quality headphones can be used on the Vincent KHV-200 headphone amplifier.
