Audiolab 9000Q: The Benchmark in High-End Preamplifiers
The Audiolab 9000Q is a preamplifier that embodies the sonic excellence of the prestigious 9000 series. Based on the acclaimed 9000A integrated amplifier, the 9000Q goes beyond conventional limits to deliver an exceptional listening experience. This high-end preamplifier combines innovation and craftsmanship with functional enhancements that elevate sound quality. Thanks to its tone controls and fully balanced signal paths, the 9000Q offers unique precision and versatility, allowing you to enjoy your music with unparalleled clarity. Discover the power of audio and let the 9000Q ignite your musical passion, transforming every note into an exciting experience.
The new 9000 series builds on the success of the 8000, 8200, and 8300 series, expanding its winning philosophy to more models. This approach aims to capture a broader audience and provide advantages to a greater variety of audio systems with the new 9000Q preamplifier and the 9000P power amplifier.
Design and Construction
The 9000Q retains the refined aesthetics of the series: a robust construction and impeccable finishes. At first glance, its design is reminiscent of the 9000N model, featuring two rotary controls and the same widely praised 4.3" color TFT display.
Designed by Jan Ertner, the mastermind behind the 9000 series components and other iconic Audiolab products, the 9000Q is not merely a simplified version of the 9000A. It is a dedicated preamplifier with an optimized design, featuring an advanced implementation of the ES9038PRO DAC chip. This chip, the most sophisticated in the Sabre line, leverages HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology to deliver exceptional dynamic range and minimal distortion—ideal for audiophiles and high-resolution files.
The 9000Q also features an enhanced MM phono input with a single-stage Class A circuit, making it an exceptional preamplifier and phono stage solution.
Tone Controls and Connectivity
Equipped with a custom high-performance transformer, the 9000Q outperforms the 9000A in delivering the current required for a preamplifier. It also introduces new tone controls for adjusting treble and bass within a ±6 dB range, configurable in 2 dB steps. This allows the sound to be tailored to the room, speakers, or personal preferences.
The 9000Q supports a variety of analog and digital inputs, including 3 AUX inputs, one balanced XLR pair, a phono input, 2 COAX inputs, 2 optical inputs, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB for PC. These inputs provide great flexibility for integration into high-fidelity systems.
In terms of outputs, the 9000Q includes a fixed AUX output and three variable outputs (2 RCA and 1 XLR), all isolated for simultaneous use without quality loss.
Additional Features
The 9000Q preamplifier is designed to adapt to multi-source audio systems, offering features such as a balanced XLR input-to-output path with analog volume control. Additionally, one AUX input can be configured in "AV Direct" mode, ideal for integration with external AV processors.
The 9000Q also includes a headphone amplifier with current feedback circuits, ensuring dynamic and detailed sound compatible with a wide range of headphones.
Its 12V trigger outputs allow control of other series devices, such as the 9000CDT or 9000N Play. The intuitive interface, powered by its TFT display, offers settings like digital oversampling, input sensitivity, balance, automatic standby mode, and display options, including a real-time VU meter.
The Audiolab 9000Q redefines the standard for preamplifiers in its category, solidifying the 9000 series as a reference in quality, design, and performance.
