We set out to make a phono stage with no practical limits. It is designed in such a way that you cannot overload the input stage or encounter any practical limitation in the output driving ability during regular use, whether it is run in single stage or in balanced form. It has three inputs, and each of them can be individually configured for MM / MC and load. Each entry also remembers its own settings. It offers state-of-the-art technical and sonic performance at a very competitive price and is the epitome of the true spirit of high-end audio.

Design philosophy.

By upgrading the M6 ​​ViNYL to the M6x ViNYL, we have switched to fully discrete circuitry, resulting in better technical measurements and better sound. It is equipped with a balanced input and output, as well as two inputs and a single-ended output to fit well into any hi-fi vinyl system. But the important question is: what is special about discrete circuits.

The advantage of discrete circuits.

A discrete circuit is made up of electronic components that are disparate, individual devices, also called discrete components. These can be "passive" components, such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors, as well as "active" components, which in our case are transistors. The opposite would be an integrated circuit, which uses operational amplifiers (Op-Amps) in the signal chain. In our industry we employ specialized Op-Amps built for audio applications, which allow us to produce very small and efficient electronics, as well as saving the time of design engineers. However, countless hours of listening tests and years of experience have shown us that even the best Op-Amps don't tend to be as neutral, natural, dynamic, or vivid - all characteristic of the Music Fidelity "sound." For that reason, we are rediscovering our passion for traditional and understated designs. While standard phono preamps with integrated circuits have a few tens or hundreds of components, discrete designs will employ hundreds or thousands of components by comparison. This makes the design process longer, but in our opinion results in the best sound for your money. The unit has three separate and independently selectable cartridge inputs. This allows you to choose between three different turntables, or multi-tone arm setups if required. Selectable gain is provided to allow for different cartridge sensitivities and the tone adapts to any rig. Cartridge type and load are selected using the front selection buttons for optimal cartridge performance.

Making way for pure music.

The real point of any electronic component, actually any audio component, is that you don't know it's there. You completely forget their existence. By that criteria, M6x vinyl is near perfect. It doesn't have any practical audible noise, it doesn't really have distortion, you can't overload its input or output, you can load your cartridge perfectly. It exists to serve music. To bring the intention, the emotions and the passion of the artist to your ears and to your heart.
