All cables in our Bridges & Falls series have their left and right channels contained in a single jacket and feature our double balanced asymmetrical geometry with separate high quality positive and negative conductors. This design allows for a thin, flexible and exceptionally versatile high performance cable that can be terminated with a variety of current connections including 3.5mm (male or female), DIN and RCA. Note, however, that by necessity the Bridges & Falls cable plugs are quite close together. If your components' L and R inputs are more than 3" (7.6 cm) apart, consider models from our Rivers or Elements series.

ASYMMETRIC DOUBLE BALANCED GEOMETRY

Designed for single ended applications, the asymmetrical double balanced geometry offers a relatively lower impedance to the ground for a richer, more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both the ground and the shield, dual-balanced designs separate them for cleaner, quieter performance.

PERFECT SURFACE SOLID COPPER CONDUCTORS (PSC)

From the beginning, AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, but even we were surprised by the huge leap in performance achieved through the astonishingly smooth and pure surface of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). The PSC clearly outperforms previous AudioQuest metals that cost ten times as much. Proprietary metal processing technology protects the conductor surface at every stage of drawing and manufacturing. When high-purity, low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion conductor. In a conventional cable, the electrical and magnetic interaction between the strands is one of the biggest sources of distortion, often producing a somewhat harsh and dirty sound.

METALLIC LAYER NOISE DISSIPATION

Achieving 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured radio frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment ground reference requires AudioQuest noise dissipation. Traditional shielding systems typically absorb and then drain RF noise/energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Noise dissipation "protects the shield", absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the ground bonded layer.

GOLD PLATED AND COLD SOLDERED TERMINATIONS

This connector design allows for a solderless connection, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of welding, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because ground shells are stamped rather than machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion rather than machinability.

POLYETHYLENE FOAM INSULATION

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. The insulation on the wires and the materials on the circuit board absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and later released as distortion. Because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low loss and has a benign distortion profile, foam polyethylene, with its high air content, causes much less of the blurring effect common to other materials.
