We are thrilled to bring the technology that has made the Storm series of NRG (Thunder, Tornado, Hurricane and Dragon) power cables a huge success to these new affordable entry-level cables.

The NRG-Y2, NRG-Y3, NRG-Z2 and NRG-Z3 AC cables take advantage of the same output and noise dissipation technologies as the NRG Storm series AC cables, but at significantly lower prices.

All new models incorporate Characteristic Zero Impedance for uncompressed current transfer: A non-technical analogy for this could be that if you drop a coin into a tube of shampoo, it doesn't matter how wide (low resistance) that tube is, the shampoo (the Impedance Characteristic) is going to get in the way (transient compromise current). Eliminating the characteristic impedance (Zero means No in this application) is like having only air in it as close to vacuum as possible. If the amplifier is running at less than one watt or is fully maxed out. unconstrained transients are visceral - something everyone the body understands, no words are required.

All new models feature Direction Controlled Drivers and Silver Shield Drains:

All drawn metal has an asymmetric and therefore directional grain structure. AudioQuest controls the variation in the resulting RF impedance so that noise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. The silver screen removes RF noise from line and neutral screens through the ground pin of the wall plug, so even the 2-pole "2" models have an unexpected ground pin.

- All new models feature Superior Metal Low Distortion Drivers:

NRG-Z2 and NRG-Z3 cables go one step further and use Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC on Z3, PSC + on Z2), also in a 7-strand semi-solid concentric conductor arrangement.

Amazingly smooth and pure Perfect-Surface processed conductors minimize distortion caused by grain boundaries and surface discontinuities that exist in any metallic conductor.
