All audiophiles seek the same qualities: verisimilitude of the original event, a sense of engagement that promotes suspension of disbelief, a visceral immersion in the audio and video experience. They also know that everything in the signal path makes a difference, and what we see, hear and experience is, very directly, the AC power itself.

In fact, the AC power supply is directly in the signal path. As the amplifiers transfer power to the speakers, they consume storage capacitors in exactly the same amount. The capacitors try to stay fully charged by drawing power from rectifiers that convert alternating current to direct current from the transformer that draws power through the wall. Ultimately, all you see, hear, and experience is AC current which must be identical to, say, the output of an amplifier, and that AC current travels through the power cord! This is why they are just as important as any cable in a system because they carry the same signal.

The Project V1 power cable features special connectors, unique to this power cable: an IEC connector, a male AC plug, and cable damping rings that incorporate Furutech's special anti-static, anti-resonance NCF material combined with a special insulation of high quality nylon. The housings of these special connectors and damping rings are formed from 4-layer hybrid NCF carbon fiber finished with a special hardened transparent damping coating.

Connector conductors are formed from non-magnetic rhodium-plated pure copper ∝ (Alpha) secured in bodies insulated with Furutech's special anti-static and anti-resonance NCF material NCF allows transmission of pure, colorless energy providing enhancements in depth and focus of the soundstage, harmonics, and tonal balance. The ∝ (Alpha) OCC – DUCC Treated Oxygen Free Copper Conductor is constructed using a combination of DUCC Ultra Crystallized High Purity Copper and Furutech's world famous Pure Transmission ∝ (Alpha) - OCC.

Supplied and regulated under strict quality and supply control by Mitsubishi Materials Industries, Furutech DUCC Ultra Crystallized High Purity Copper is one of the best conductors Furutech engineers have found for signal transmission.

Mitsubishi processes this extremely pure oxygen-free copper with a new technology that optimally aligns the crystals while reducing the number of crystal grain boundaries, resulting in a tremendously efficient conductor.
