The Elements employ triple balanced geometry and an asymmetric signal and ground impedance. When used with single ended RCA plugs, a larger lead is used for the positive and the two smaller single ended leads are combined to provide a ground reference that has an impedance 59% lower than the lead of the sign.
AudioQuest Water analog interconnects are designed for mid-range and high-end systems and offer exceptional performance and value.

Perfect Surface Solid Copper Conductors (PSC +)
Strand interaction is the single biggest cause of distortion in a cable. Concentrated semisolid conductors avoid many strand interaction distortion mechanisms. Solid core conductors offer a complete and compelling solution to this problem.
The quality of the conductor metal is critical to the best performance of the cable. The conductor surface is the only area of the conductor with 100% current density at all frequencies. The smoothness of the conductor surface is imperative because the surface is a guide rail for the entire energy envelope. The best conductive metals copper and silver have lower grain limits and low oxygen content for low distortion and high performance.
The Perfect-Surface Copper + surface has a surprisingly smooth and pure surface. Patented metal processing technology protects the surface of the wire at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity, low-oxide copper is kept as smooth, pure, and smooth as possible, it becomes a marvelously low-distortion PSC + conductor. PSC + is manufactured by applying the same exceptional technology to ultrapure copper. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and simply less obtrusive. For more than 30 years AudioQuest has pioneered the use of higher metals; however, even we were surprised by the huge leap in performance that was made possible with Perfect Surface Technology.
PSC + simply outperforms all previously available copper metals at any price. All Water conductors are solid. The electrical and magnetic interaction between the strands of a conventional cable is the biggest source of distortion, often causing a somewhat dirty and harsh sound. Solid conductors are critical to achieving a very clean sound from water.
Dielectric Bias System (DBS, US Pat #S 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1)
All insulation slows down the signal in the inner conductor. When isolation is unbiased, it slows down parts of the signal differently - a big problem for highly time-sensitive multi-octave audio. AudioQuest DBS creates a strong and stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules in the insulation. This minimizes both the energy storage in the insulation and the multiple non-linear time delays that occur. Sound appears from a strikingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. ECP battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for occasional battery testing.
The water uses the 72V black DBS, which adds essential noise dissipation filtering device and RFI filter, thus greatly improving performance.
Polyethylene Air Tube Insulation
Insulation is necessary to keep positive and negative conductors separate and to provide stability to the cable geometry. Insulation is also a "dielectric" because it is within the magnetic field of the conductor. Dielectrics absorb energy, which after a delay is released into the signal, causing smearing and distortion. Better insulation reduces distortion by absorbing less energy.
All water conductors use PE air tube insulation because air absorbs almost no energy, and polyethylene is low loss and has a benign distortion profile. PE air tube insulation causes much less of the blurring effect common to other materials.
Carbon-based 6-layer Noise Dissipation System (NDS):
100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured RF interference from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise Dissipation System. The Noise Dissipation System prevents a significant amount of RFI from reaching the equipment ground plane.
AudioQuest's Noise Dissipation System (NDS) offers a compelling solution to this challenge using metal only or alternating layers of metal and carbon-charged synthetics to effectively "shield the shield" by absorbing and reflecting Radio Frequency energy ( RF) before it reaches the layer attached to the ground.
The water uses the 6-layer carbon-based Noise Dissipation System (NDS) to prevent most of the RFI from reaching the equipment ground plane.
Triple Balance Geometry
Geometry is the physical relationship of conductors to each other within a cable and determines the most basic electrical values of a cable (capacitance and inductance). Different cable applications have different / specialized geometric requirements, so these applications do not simply follow a "one size fits all" approach. Better geometry leads to lower levels of distortion.
The three conductors of the "triple balanced" water cables ensure that, whether prepared with RCA or XLR plugs, the positive and negative signals have equally low distortion conductive paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as the bottom conductor.
Directionality
AudioQuest's understanding of conductor directionality and its effect on audio performance has constantly evolved, becoming louder and more comprehensive. All audio cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by the arrows on the plugs or parts of the cables.
Cold-hung silver plating directly over
AudioQuest high-purity "red-copper" plugs specifies materials and designs each of its own connectors from the ground up, resulting in the long-lasting quality and exceptional performance you deserve. . These components are crucial to the overall performance of a cable.
To provide the best possible performance for each application, AudioQuest designs each of its connectors from the ground up. These components are crucial to the overall performance of the cable. Meticulous care is taken to evaluate the highest quality materials and design for each application.
AudioQuest pays particular attention to the coating it uses on the base metals of its carefully crafted connectors. This novel patented plug design allows for a solderless connection, which is a common source of distortion. Because the ground sleeves are stamped rather than machined, the metal can be chosen for low distortion rather than machine capability. Red-Copper offers a cleaner and clearer sound than nickel-plated or OFHC metals commonly found in plugs from competing manufacturers.
This plug design also allows for a perfect heat-free connection between the cord and the plug. The connection between the plug and the conductors is made by AQ's cold welding system, which provides a superior connection that ensures that the structural integrity of the conductor is kept completely intact. The Cold Welded System refers to a combination of high pressure at the point of contact and the use of paste impregnated with copper or silver. (Wild Blue Yonder silver conductors receive silver paste.) XLR plugs are also available.
