Yosemite Valley in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California is world famous for its beauty, for naturalist John Muir's work to preserve the Valley, and for the striking black and white photographs of Ansel Adams ("Yosemite and the Range of the light"). Like other glacier-carved fjord-type valleys, such as the famous Western Norway fjords, Yosemite Valley is adorned with magnificent waterfalls along both sides. Giant sequoia trees, the largest in the world, further enhance Yosemite as arguably the most beautiful of all the National Parks in the United States.

Solid

Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC +) conductors: Perfect-Surface Copper + has an astonishingly smooth and pure surface. Patented metal processing technology protects the surface of the wire at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity, low-oxide copper is kept as smooth, pure, and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion PSC + conductor. PSC + is manufactured by applying the same exceptional technology to ultrapure copper. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and simply less obtrusive. For more than 30 years AudioQuest has pioneered the use of higher metals; however, even we were surprised by the huge leap in performance that was made possible with Perfect Surface Technology.

PSC + simply outperforms all previously available copper metals at any price. All Yosemite drivers are solid. The electrical and magnetic interaction between the strands of a conventional cable is the biggest source of distortion, often causing a somewhat dirty and harsh sound. Solid conductors are critical to achieving Yosemite's very clean sound.

FEP Air Tubing Insulation (FEP is a fluorine polymer):

Insulation is necessary to keep positive and negative conductors separate and to provide stability to the cable geometry. Insulation is also a "dielectric" because it is within the magnetic field of the conductor. Dielectrics absorb energy, which after a delay is released into the signal, causing smearing and distortion. Better insulation reduces distortion by absorbing less energy.

All Yosemite conductors use air tube insulation because air absorbs almost no energy, and FEP is the best removable solid insulation and absorbs less energy than other materials. The FEP air tubes used in Yosemite have almost nothing but air around the solid PSC + conductors.

All the insulation slows down the signal in the inner conductor. When isolation is unbiased, it slows down parts of the signal differently - a big problem for highly time-sensitive multi-octave audio. AudioQuest DBS creates a strong and stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules in the insulation. This minimizes both the energy storage in the insulation and the multiple non-linear time delays that occur. Sound appears from a strikingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. ECP battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for occasional battery testing.

Yosemite uses the 3-layer carbon-based Noise Dissipation System (NDS) to prevent most RFIs from reaching the equipment ground plane.

Carbon-based 3-layer Noise Dissipation System (NDS):

100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured RF interference from modulating the equipment ground reference requires AQ's Noise Dissipation System. The Noise Dissipation System prevents a significant amount of RFI from reaching the equipment ground plane.

AudioQuest's Noise Dissipation System (NDS) offers a compelling solution to this challenge using metal only or alternating layers of metal and carbon-charged synthetics to effectively "shield the shield" by absorbing and reflecting Radio Frequency energy ( RF) before it reaches the layer attached to the ground.

Double Balanced Asymmetric Geometry:

Designed for single ended applications, Double Balanced Asymmetric Geometry offers a relatively lower impedance on the ground for a richer and more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both ground and shield, double-balanced designs separate the two for cleaner and quieter performance.
