More Power in a Single-Ended Design
Traditionally, affordable Single-Ended amplifiers have offered limited power, typically between 9W and 13W. However, with the inclusion of the KT150 tube, the ST30SE achieves more than double the power without increasing costs.
The driver circuit, crucial for the performance of the KT150, has been designed with 6SN7 tubes in a cascode configuration. This maintains the advantages of Single-Ended design while avoiding common drawbacks such as weak bass, hum, or lack of power, which often affect this type of amplifier.
Flexible Power Configuration
The ST30SE is designed to operate in both Triode mode (18W) and Ultralinear mode (28W):
18W in Triode mode: Sufficient for most applications, ideal for high-efficiency speakers.
28W in Ultralinear mode: Greater dynamic range and more power when needed.
This amplifier pairs perfectly with speakers such as Full Range M, MFV3, and classics like Tannoy. In general, it performs optimally with any speaker that has a sensitivity of 90dB or higher.
