The M8xi is a superb stereo integrated amplifier that can be defined without reservation as a set consisting of a preamp and two separate mono power amps in a single chassis. Each of the amp blocks incorporates its own heatsink and transformer, while the preamp section also includes its own dedicated power supply and is located close to the input connectors with ultrashort signal paths to minimize potential audio signal degradations. This elegant design ensures that the signals corresponding to the two channels have extremely low impedance by the time they reach the power amplification section, a very significant design detail with direct consequences on the final sound presentation. As regards the aforementioned power amplification section, the least that can be said about this “integrated super-amplifier” is that it has been conceived to overcome the greatest challenges in dynamic capacity by incorporating no less than 12 bipolar transistors per channel, which allow deliver peak currents of the order of 200 amps. To all that, the Musical Fidelity adds practical DAC functionality with inputs and outputs that make it easy to connect a wide spectrum of digital sources. The M8xi is completed with a robust, very high-quality metal construction featuring a front panel made of impeccably machined military grade aluminum.
