The EVO AS arm utilizes an S-shaped aluminum tube with internal damping and a bayonet-style universal headshell. This distinctive arm design is not only aesthetically striking on any turntable but also offers technical advantages. The arm's geometry helps reduce groove angle distortion and provides exceptional tracking. Additionally, for cartridge enthusiasts, the easily user-replaceable headshell facilitates cartridge swapping. Arm tube fixation is achieved with a single screw, allowing for straightforward azimuth adjustment. Internal wiring comprises flexible, high-purity copper, an excellent conductor for phono-level signals. Furthermore, each cable is equipped with a gold-plated cartridge connector.
The arm rotates on a quality ABEC 7 inverted gimbal bearing with 4 stainless steel tips, ensuring stable, low-friction rotation for clean tracking. This bearing is housed in a fully aluminum casing providing necessary stability. The arm design allows the bearing to be maintenance-free but easy to adjust if needed.
For tracking force and VTA adjustment, two counterweights are supplied with each arm, allowing for broad compatibility with various cartridges from the outset. These counterweights are damped with TPE, significantly contributing to resonance control. It is recommended to use the counterweight closest to the pivot point with the desired tracking force applied to ensure maximum stability and keep arm inertia as low as possible.
Arm height can be continuously adjusted by loosening and tightening the two screws on the armrest, allowing for perfect adjustment according to VTA requirements. Experimentation with VTA and azimuth is crucial to maximizing phono cartridge performance.
