Maximum performance, refinement and luxury
Every vinyl enthusiast has records in their collection, or finds vinyl LP records they'd love to have, but were too warped for any cartridge with their arm to track.
The DF-2 is the all-in-one, one-button solution to your problems! The DF-2 provides perfect heat-controlled flattening for all your warped vinyl records, even those with only slight irregularities enough to destabilize their cartridge and cause tracking error.
Deformations and their sound
Warps are always bad no matter how you look at it. If the tonearm/capsule remains parallel to the surface of the LP vinyl record as with a flat record, the VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle) remains unchanged with each rotation. Also, as the arm/cap assembly tracks an upward warp, it exerts greater pressure on the stylus which changes the VTF (Vertical Tracking Force) to the peak of the warp, after which the cartridge "unloads" with very little vertical tracking force (VTF) on the way down.
Of course, all of this confuses the sound, changing the tonal quality, imaging, and soundstage characteristics of the capsule. A flat vinyl record also tracks better with less distortion.
The DF-2 doesn't take up much space in your home with its space-saving vertical storage design. Enhanced film heating technology optimizes the entire heating and cooling cycle so the vinyl LP record lays perfectly flat, which your cartridge - and you - will love. Simply lay the DF-2 flat, open and place the vinyl LP record in the guides, close and touch a single button.
An LCD screen keeps you informed of progress with a tone that sounds when you're done. The DF-2 is an improved version of the original DFV-1.

"...The DFV-1 flattened any warped LP I threw around, no matter the weight or warp, and it did so without damaging the LP in any way that I could see or hear" - John Crossett, Soundstage, September 2007
