non-technical analogy for this could be that if a coin is dropped into a tube with shampoo, no matter how wide (low resistance) that tube is, the shampoo (the Characteristic Impedance ) is going to get in the way (compromise current transients). Eliminating Characteristic Impedance (Zero means No in this application) is like having only air in the tube, as close to vacuum as possible. Whether the amp is running at less than a watt or at full throttle, the unrestricted transients are visceral, something the whole body understands, without the need for words.

Radio Frequency Trap Dielectric Bias System (DBS, US Pat #S 7,126,055)

The AudioQuest ECP creates a strong and stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules in the insulation. This minimizes non-linear time delays, resulting in clearer sound emerging from a more "black" background. The inclusion of a radio frequency trap ensures that radio frequency noise will not be induced in the signal conductors of the DBS field elements.

Direction controlled and proprietary ground noise dissipation conductors

AC noise is present at the utility source and then supplemented by noise from radio, cell phone, etc., noise that is picked up by the power cord of CA. This noise is then coupled to the component power supplies and circuit ground, which in turn creates distortion and masking of the low-level signal.

AudioQuests' proprietary ground noise dissipation dramatically reduces radio frequency interference (RFI) linearly across an extremely wide range of frequencies, producing an unprecedented reduction in Transient Intermodulation (TIM) distortion. A natural sound is heard with an artificial bite.

Furthermore, all drawn metallic filaments or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the small variation in the resulting RF impedance so that the noise is drained away from where it will cause the distortion.

Uncompressed High Current Transfer

Although many AC power cables feature low DC resistance to accommodate high current demand, the characteristic impedance of a cable is also crucial for optimal performance.

While most AC cables constrict or compress an audio-induced transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero characteristic impedance to deliver uncompressed high-current transients on demand.

Optional Fuse Upgrade

As an optional extra, Future Shop will upgrade the built-in fuse to the excellent Blue 13A fuse from Synergistic Research (SR). The Blue SR fuse is an excellent upgrade option due to the materials used that offer increased resolution and realism over standard fuses. Some of the improvements you can hear include; a quieter floor, greater dynamics, a more relaxed sound and a more detailed musicality.
