Launched in 2001, the Stereo MKI was our first integrated amplifier and remains a very special product for us. Over the years, we have made numerous improvements, and in its latest version, the MKIV, we have incorporated various updates that make it an outstanding choice in terms of value for money.
New Features and Improvements
Headphone Output
Thanks to customer feedback, the new model now includes a headphone jack, increasing versatility and allowing for more flexible use.
Optimized Power Supply
With an improved power supply and redesigned output transformers, the ultralinear mode now delivers over 40W of power, ensuring greater capacity to handle demanding transients and providing a stronger bass response.
Increased Power in Triode Mode
Since most users prefer triode mode, its power has been increased to 20W, making it compatible with most speakers, except for those with very low efficiency.
Enhanced Drive Circuit
The circuit design has been updated with a cascode configuration in the first stage, allowing for the exclusive use of the renowned 6SN7 tube for all driver functions. This delivers greater sonic clarity, optimizes low-volume response, and simplifies tube replacement, as the amplifier only requires two distinct tube types.

High-Quality Tertiary Transformers
The output transformers incorporate an additional tertiary winding, significantly reducing harmonic distortion and minimizing the need for global feedback. These hand-made transformers are considered among the best on the market, despite their costly and complex production.
Reduced Feedback Design
To preserve the natural warmth of the sound, the Stereo 40 MKIV employs minimal feedback, avoiding the negative effects of excessive correction.
Compatibility with EL34 and 6550 Tubes
This amplifier is designed to maximize the potential of the EL34 tube, one of the most renowned Beam Pentodes for its efficiency, ease of handling, and low distortion. For those looking for an alternative, the American 6550 tube is an excellent option with a similar sonic profile.
Ultralinear or Triode Mode at the Press of a Button
For decades, audio enthusiasts have debated which configuration offers the best sound: ultralinear or triode. With the Stereo 40 MKIV, you can switch between both modes with a simple button press, allowing you to enjoy the best of each configuration without additional modifications.
6SN7 (CV181) Tube
This tube, a precursor to the ECC series from 1941, provides a more vibrant and realistic sound that pairs perfectly with modern EL34 tubes. The amplifier comes factory-equipped with the CV181 version.
Precision Remote Control
The remote control system allows for precise volume adjustments from the comfort of your listening position, enabling fine-tuned changes without needing to get up.
High Power for Any Environment
With a 50W output, this amplifier can fill medium to large rooms with detailed sound and excellent musical reproduction.
Additionally, upgrade options include premium tubes such as Shuguang "Treasure" models or high-end Russian alternatives, as well as enhancements with Mundorf silver/gold oil capacitors.
