Next level moving magnet
Each Nd7 capsule is meticulously handcrafted by our highly skilled technicians. It uses our most advanced ‘fine line’ bare diamond profile for maximum detail recovery. This profile, also used in our high-end MC models Apheta 3 and Aphelion 2, has an artificial monocrystalline diamond with an extremely small radius: only 3 µm when viewed from above and 30 µm vertically when viewed from the front. This precision allows the diamond to adjust to very small changes in the vinyl, resulting in exceptional detail recovery. In addition, the design incorporates a new generator geometry with perfect symmetry for extremely accurate channel balancing. The Nd7 also features optimised pole spacing, improving linearity and reducing crosstalk, resulting in a much wider soundstage than previous models. This new cartridge includes miniaturised parallel coils with a 38-micron, 1275-turn wire, creating a low-inductance, low-impedance generator that significantly improves high-frequency response. In line with our commitment to sustainability, the Nd range comes in 100% recyclable packaging.

Second Magnet Technology
Commonly used in moving coil designs (including ours), the Nd7 is the first moving magnet to employ an N55 neodymium (Nd) magnet, the most powerful commercial magnet in the world. This crucial component provides the additional power needed for this unique design, outperforming standard bar magnet designs.
Glass-filled PPS body
The entire assembly is housed in a glass-filled, injection-moulded, zero-tolerance polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) body, a lightweight and very rigid material. A low-mass body reduces stress on the arm bearings and facilitates free movement, crucial for accurate vinyl reproduction. This new body design is inspired by our successful MC range.
Cantilever and stylus profiles
The Nd7's aluminium cantilever is equipped with a precision elliptical bare diamond stylus, offering exceptional tracking accuracy and extracting greater levels of detail from the vinyl surface.
Factory-installed options
The Nd7 cartridge will be available as a factory-installed option on the multi-award winning Planar 6 and Planar 8 turntable models. Designed specifically for these turntables, the Nd7 promises to bring out the best in your vinyl collection. Factory-installed packages are offered at a reduced price compared to those purchased separately; please consult your Rega dealer for details.
Rega Rebuild Scheme
The unique design of the pivot pad on Rega cartridges improves performance by eliminating the mechanical linkage between the stylus housing and the main body, greatly improving the tracking ability and stability of the stylus. If your Rega cartridge becomes damaged or worn, you can return it to your Rega dealer, who will provide you with a rebuilt cartridge with a new cantilever, stylus and pivot pad. Each rebuild is fully tested as if it were a new cartridge, and is sold at a reduced price compared to a replacement stylus from other manufacturers.
