The Rega Fono MM mk5 phono preamplifier has been designed to be efficient, easy to use and, above all, to play music. The Rega Fono MM MK5 uses a complementary amplifier input stage cascaded entirely from discrete components, a configuration designed to optimise the performance of its moving magnet (MM) capsule. Now housed in a new housing redesigned to match the new Rega Fono MC phono preamp and the latest range of Rega electronics it offers a modern look guaranteed to integrate into any hi-fi system.
The perfect companion for your turntable
The aesthetic design of the Fono MM was as important as the quality of its turntable needle signal amplification capabilities, so it benefits from the same updated aluminium casing as the Rega Neo and Fono MC amplifier, giving it a design that offers a familiar feel and brings it in line with its illustrious big brothers. The RIAA equalisation has been split into two stages to minimise interaction. Polyester capacitors have been used in the signal path and polypropylene capacitors in the RIAA equalisation circuits.
