Turntables have a long history. Over time, a lot has changed, not only in terms of technical possibilities, but also in terms of the environment. Wireless networks are ubiquitous and countless electronic devices make your home "smarter". This means that there are now many additional electromagnetic fields, which could interfere with the signal of your turntable. This was not the case 30 years ago. To ensure the best connection to your phono preamplifier, we have designed our "True Balanced Connection".

What is TRUE BALANCED?

Balanced audio connections are often known in the professional sector, such as recording studios or live concerts. It is very important to have a stable and interference-free connection, as these signals will be highly amplified. The same applies to the connection of the turntable to the phono preamplifier. The great advantage of a balanced connection is its ability to eliminate noise and picked-up interference. Best of all, cartridges, by nature, are already balanced signal transducers. With True Balanced you are simply using all, literally all, of what your cartridge is picking up from the disc groove. You are not throwing away half of the usable signal, as is done with typical single-ended RCA phono connections.

The X2 B comes with mini XRL and RCA outputs and our standard Connect it Phono E semi-balanced RCA cable. If you upgrade to our fully balanced mini XLR to mini XLR version (available separately) and use a balanced phono stage, such as our Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B, you'll be fully prepared for the True Balanced experience. This allows for increased dynamics, reduced noise and improved signal-to-noise ratio. You can imagine it, like hearing parts of your music that literally weren't there before.

EISA award for being truly balanced.

Cartridges are balanced signal transducers by nature. Due to the internal wiring of the MM cartridges, you will need an MC cartridge to access the entirety of that balanced signal. The X2 B comes with an Ortofon Quintet Red MC cartridge aligned from the factory, and together with our new True Balanced patch cables and our balanced phono stages you can access high-end features previously only available in the more expensive hifi categories. In combination with our S3 B and X2 B phono boxes, our True Balanced concept won the prestigious EISA award for best vinyl system.

High precision motor control.

A sophisticated DC/AC generator board generates clean and stable power to drive the motor. Easily change speed at the touch of a button.

New motor suspension.

A good motor by itself is already very quiet. To get the most out of it, we've improved the engine suspension. The engine chassis of the X2 B is carefully balanced and suspended on a precisely tuned TPE belt: in this way, the engine chassis is effectively decoupled from the main base for optimum performance.

9'' carbon-aluminium tuner.

Compared to its smaller brother, the X1 B, the tonearm is longer - 9'' in length - and the tube has a larger diameter. The carbon/aluminium sandwhich construction results in better internal damping. The increased mass makes the toner a perfect fit for low-compliance MC cartridges.

The three damped, height-adjustable aluminium feet ensure perfect support and greatly reduce the risk of acoustic feedback.

Finished in one piece, with no resonance-inducing head, the X2 B can also be adjusted in azimuth and VTA. The toner is supplied with a TPE damped counterweight.
