We asked ourselves how we could make the most successful turntable we've ever made sound better, be even easier to use and be more accessible to a wider audience. The answer was simple: our engineers added a custom-designed, high-quality moving-magnet phono stage based on the award-winning What Hi-Fi? 5 Star Fono Mini.

For 2021 we have a new look for the Planar 1 PLUS. We are delighted to introduce a stunning new matte finish. Every aspect of the Planar 1 PLUS has been meticulously designed to enhance its performance. The Planar 1 PLUS uses a low noise 24V synchronous motor to reduce vibration, combined with our handmade RB110 toner and fitted with our exclusive Rega designed ultra-low friction bearings. We have added our latest belt drive technology, the EBLT belt, which offers increased accuracy and improved speed performance. BUILT-IN PHONO STAGE:

The built-in phono stage is a high specification preamplifier. It is designed to amplify the signal from a moving magnet capsule to a level suitable for all line level inputs of a suitable audio system or amplifier. This allows easy connection to a wide variety of products using the standard dual phono to phono cable (supplied) or phono to 3.5mm jack (not supplied).

TONEARM:

The RB110 tonearm is constructed with Rega-designed ultra-low friction bearings (patent pending). Pre-set bias assembly eliminates the need for user adjustment of the bias, making it the most "Plug & Play" turntable we've ever made. Ergonomic, redesigned and stiffer head for improved usability and appearance.

CARTRIDGE:

Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge supplied as standard.

MOTOR:

24V synchronous AC motor with new motor printed circuit board and aluminium pulley offering low noise level and increased speed stability.

BELT DRIVE:

Advanced EBLT drive belt supplied as standard for improved performance and speed accuracy.

PLINTH:

New matt finished plinth with a much improved appearance and ergonomic on/off switch located at the bottom. Two stunning plinth finishes available, matte black and matte white.

CENTRE BEARING HOUSING:

Precision brass main bearing, which offers a better fit and eliminates stress on the bearing itself while minimising potential energy transfer.(Patent pending).

PLATE:

23 mm, high-mass phenolic plate with improved flywheel effect for greater speed stability.

INSULATION:

Our latest custom foot design for increased stability and reduced vibration transfer.

ENGINE COVER TRAY:

Engine cover tray with integrated cooling.
