Based on the discontinued DS-1, the DS-2 is a pair of miniature Bluetooth speakers that were hailed as the best under £200 by What Hi-Fi?, who awarded them in 2015 as "small desktop speakers that sound fantastic for the money".
Unlike most Bluetooth speakers, the DS-2 delivers a two-way hi-fi experience in a compact size, measuring just 190mm high, 120mm wide and 140mm deep.
Its mid/bass cones are made of woven polypropylene, selected for its balance of lightness, strength and sound fidelity. In addition, both speakers are protected by specifically designed metal grilles, while a rear port enhances low-frequency performance, delivering surprisingly deep and powerful bass for its size.
On the power side, the main speaker is equipped with a new generation of high-performance digital amplification, delivering 2x15W continuous output and 2x30W peak. This drives the treble and mid/bass drivers through a high-quality crossover, ensuring accurate, high-fidelity audio reproduction.
Bluetooth connectivity allows easy pairing with smartphones, tablets, PCs and Macs, with support for the aptX codec for superior sound quality. Plus, its flexibility is further enhanced with a 3.5mm analogue stereo input, along with an included cable for added versatility.
