The basic element that influences the sound quality of the WBT-0102 Ag is the Central Contact Unit, which has been developed in exactly the same way as the plug-in model WBT-0110 Ag: a minimal mass of signal conductors made of fine silver. Silver was chosen as the best electrical conductor, which is an absolute guarantee not only for ultra-fast signal transmission, but also for excellent fine resolution. The signal conductors are passivated and therefore better protected against corrosion or mirration that would affect the quality of the contact.

The WBT-0102 Ag finds its transmission bandwidth of up to 200 MHz well above the transmission bandwidth of conventional RCA plugs.

Through the clamping device that works like a chuck of a drilling machine, the outer contact of the plug, once inserted, is firmly clamped to the RCA plug. The maximum contact pressure not only provides a secure connection, but also minimizes transition resistance.

Thanks to the two-piece clamping sleeve, the sleeve cone does not rotate while the clamping sleeve is being tightened and therefore the contact elements are not exposed to torsional pressure. In addition, inaccuracies in the dimensions of the outer contacts of the sockets are compensated in this way.

The center pin is slotted and slightly bent and thus ensures a secure and long-lasting electrical connection with the lowest possible transition resistance with its firm spring characteristic.

The body element is made of brass (platinum plated) to be able to accept rigid and especially thick cables. The metal connector body is of course electrically decoupled from the Central Contact Unit and is made of as little metal as possible, so that also the WBT-0102 Ag is largely eddy current free.

Apart from the digital outputs, it is very important that the phono outputs (turntables, microphones) have good shielding against electromagnetic interference fields. Undesirable interference can be very high depending on the nature of the devices and what they are surrounded by in the first place (cell phones, computers, etc.). The pure nextgenTM WBT-0110 was designed as the perfect RCA plug for digital links, the new WBT-0102 Ag optimizes analog connections. The WBT-0102 Ag has the most conductive brass clamping sleeve and with the negative contact element connected to provide the necessary electromagnetic shielding.

To solder your cable, WBT recommends using WBT-0800 silver solder (see also solder connection) which is smooth on the surface.

Torx screw provides secure cable strain relief. (The position of the Torx screw on the round shaft of the socket may vary depending on the production process.)
