The signal conductor of the WBT-0707 nextgen™ binding post uses as little metal mass as possible, consisting of pure copper. This not only preserves valuable resources but also eliminates sound quality losses due to the mass storage effect, which is unavoidable with larger metal masses and has a measurable impact on signal flow. The innovative geometry of the conductors in these nextgen™ binding posts also effectively prevents eddy currents, which can distort the purity of the signal. Eddy currents generate nonlinear distortion that cannot be corrected.
But the innovations do not stop there. The shape of the signal conductor not only combats the mass storage effect and eddy currents, but it has also been optimized through complex testing and calculations, making the new nextgen™ binding post significantly more resistant to micro-vibrations caused by structure-borne sound than conventional models. This means that nextgen™ binding posts offer an unrivaled level of transfer safety and, when combined with the WBT-0718 nextgen™ impact sound interrupter, set the limits of what is technically possible.
Another innovative feature is the torque indicator integrated into the binding posts, which provides an acoustic signal when sufficient contact pressure has been applied to the sandwich spades. It is a common misconception that the optimal signal transfer occurs only when the maximum contact pressure is applied to the contact surfaces. If pressed together too tightly, these surfaces may suffer permanent damage.
That being said, nextgen™ binding posts allow you the freedom to adjust contact pressure as desired. Along with the signal conductor, the interaction between different materials is another crucial factor for the quality and long lifespan of nextgen™ binding posts.

External connection
The intelligent design of the signal conductor ensures a secure termination of cable ends, banana plugs, and crimped cable ends.
Internal connection
Soldering lugs that can be bent manually if necessary. WBT recommends using WBT-0800/0805 silver solder, which is gentle on the precious surfaces.
Mounting
WBT recommends using the WBT-0718 impact sound interrupter.
Hint for equipment manufacturers
Due to current safety regulations, the 4 mm banana holes of WBT binding posts used in the audio/video field within the EU must be sealed with the WBT-0799 safety plug.
