The CTA407 is a stereo integrated amplifier with 100% tube architecture that was created with the aim of enhancing the role of this component as an interface between the signal sources and the loudspeakers, in order to take the restitution of music to its highest levels of naturalness. Of this distinguished electronics, it should be noted first of all that its creators have compromised the usual conceptual simplicity of Copland's achievements by introducing complex circuitry to support the audio stages. In terms of compatibility, the new Copland will automatically match any output valve in the 6550/KT88/KT120/KT150 family thanks to a key innovation: a servo system that not only adjusts the bias automatically and losslessly, but is an integral part of the device's internal high-pass filtering circuitry, closely matched to the transfer function of the amplifier section. As for the output stages, they are of push-pull type and consist of two valves mounted in a fixed ultra-linear configuration which simultaneously provides the low distortion of the triodes and the generous power of the tetrodes. On the other hand, as a consequence of the outstanding quality of the output transformers, superb linearity is achieved already before feedback is applied, thus reducing the costs inherent in using internal compensation circuits, as well as ensuring high stability before closing the loop with 18 dB negative feedback.
