Technical description:

AAfono has been developed starting with a dual op amp configuration that allows the total gain to be shared between the two amplifiers thus having a more accurate RIAA response.

A lot of effort was put into getting a good result on this parameter using high quality, low tolerance components used in parallel configuration to even out errors.

To cancel out eventual LP fluctuations, a subsonic filter has been added between the first and second amplifiers to prevent strong low-frequency oscillations from clipping the gain stages.

The circuit design has been completed with compensation recovery in the last stage and multiple filters in the power supply stage.

There are three different toroidal transformers to supply digital sections and left and right analog sections, keeping the ground connections separate. All passive components have been carefully selected. The capacitors used for RIAA curve matching are all plastic film with low tolerance. AAphono is very versatile and easy to use.

For MM cartridges it is possible to set the input capacitance and resistance, while for MC cartridges it is possible to set the input resistance.

These adjustments can be easily made by simply pressing the corresponding buttons under the unit, just behind the front panel, without removing anything or using many different switches.

The selected setting will remain set also when the unit is switched off or disconnected from the mains.
